Who we are

We're the ICE DRAGONS – a dynamic, eco-minded, innovative, and award-winning youth robotics team fueled by creativity and passion!

What we do

With your help, we’re embarking on a journey to organize themed art projects that bridge the gap between generations. Through collaborative efforts, seniors and teens will work hand in hand to create impactful artworks focusing on meaningful themes such as climate solutions and environmental advocacy.

How it works

We’ll select versatile art media such as murals with stickers and Lego, making it accessible for both seniors and teens.
Seniors will share their expertise and insights, guiding the theme and foundation of each art project.
Teens will then contribute Lego models or drawings, which will be combined with the seniors’ input to craft the final masterpiece.
These creations will be showcased both locally in libraries and community centers, and virtually alongside artworks from seniors in other communities.

Participating seniors and teens will not only contribute to the cause they care about but also experience the joy of collaboration across generations. This unique opportunity fosters mutual learning and inspiration.

Our Success Story: How The Climate Owls and Ice Dragons Ignited Change

Meet the Climate Owls, a passionate group of seniors from Rose Town Seniors Residence in Richmond Hill. Faced with the challenge of reducing their climate impact within apartment living, they embarked on a journey of innovation and collaboration. Determined to amplify their impact, the Climate Owls sought to share their solutions with a wider audience. That’s when they connected with the Ice Dragons, a dynamic youth robotics team from the local community.

Together, the Climate Owls and Ice Dragons embarked on a mission to bridge generational gaps and spark meaningful change. Through collaborative efforts, they envisioned a project that would not only showcase the seniors’ wisdom but also engage the creativity of local high school students.

The result? A stunning wall-sized mural brimming with ideas to combat climate change, crafted through the collective insights of seniors and teens alike. This mural served as a tangible embodiment of their shared commitment to environmental stewardship.

But the impact didn’t stop there. The murals quickly gained attention at community events such as Richmond Hill High School’s “Light up the Hill” event, and the Mayor’s Maple Syrup Festival attended by thousands of people.

The art’s message resonated with visitors, inspiring them to take action in their own lives and communities.

As the murals continue to captivate hearts and minds, they serve as a reminder that when generations come together, incredible things happen. The Climate Owls and Ice Dragons have not only created art but have ignited a movement—one that embodies the spirit of unity, innovation, and collective action.
